Wings of Liberty...

He ate and drank the precious words,
His spirit grew robust,
He knew no more that he was poor,
Or that his frame was dust,
He danced along the dingy ways;
And this bequest of wings
Was but a book. What liberty
A loosened spirit brings.
~Emily Dickinson
We have been given the great opportunity to give our children (or ourselves for that matter) the wings of liberty that grow from the ability to read. What have you been reading lately??

As far as family read alouds go, we are reading Farmer Boy (Litte House Series). DH and I are reading Discipline For a Lifetime by Dr. Ray Guerendi (great book in a question and answer format). My most favorite stand by, when nothing else looks appealing, are cookbooks. Currently I have been reading a lot about jams, jellies and the like.
