We just finished up reading a good little book called The Courage of Sarah Noble written by Alice Dalgliesh. It is a true story about an eight year old girl who had a great adventure accompanying her father into the the wilds of Connecticut to cook for her father while he built a house for the family. There they slept outside and even met Indians! Sarah had to remind herself many times of the words her mother said to her when she left home..."Keep up your courage, Sarah Noble. Keep up you courage." The kids loved hearing the story (I read it to them), Becky especially...Now I have to go pick up my two other books on reserve at the library...The Matchlock Gun & Abraham Lincoln...This is part of our History using Beautiful Feet Books Primary lessons...

Hi all,
Funny that the author's name is linked to the Buchanan family heritage. Before dad's grandmother took back her maiden name, her married name was Dalgleisch. Did you impart that bit of trivia to your children?
Just checkin'
Love, mom/grandee
