Finding Nature...

I just had to add this quick post because I think that kids do the cutest things sometimes! We have had very mild weather here the past few days considering that it is the middle of January! Anyway, the kids aren't feeling all that great today - Jake is the worst winning the "Kid with the most boogers flowing out of his nose" award today! Dan took Becky to church & I stayed home with the boys...

Hey - quick sidebar - I have found myself saying "the boys" a LOT lately - I think that I am just really trying to get used to saying it & realizing that when I do say it, I am referring to my OWN children! Now, don't think I've gone crazy or anything - I do realize that I have three children (and have had three for just about a whole year now) - but it's just cracking me up lately that I can say "Yeah, we dropped the boys off there..." or "I'll be taking Becky & Dan's home with the boys"...OK. Enough of this sidebar.

Anyway...back to my original thought...the kids have colds & the weather is mild so we sent Becky & Matthew out to enjoy the fresh air for a while - Matthew got a cool remote control truck for Christmas & they're having fun taking turns with that outside! They just came in before for a few minutes to show me..."They found nature!" Now this is Matthew's favorite phrase - He's always finding nature & bringing it back into the house to me. Most days it's leaves (which he puts on his dresser in his room, they dry out & crumble into dust & then he wonders where his nature went!) or rocks - Today they got brave & took a walk into the woods behind our house...they came back with some really nice pinecones & an evergreen branch & of course, some more leaves...they showed me their treasures of nature & said they're going back out for a little bit...

I just had to post how cute I thought it was that they "found nature". Well, I gotta go because they just came back in & informed me that filled up a whole paper bag with nature!!!
